It was established on the name of Pakistan president (Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto). It offers several medical courses to its students including MBBS, Mphil, and Ph. D degrees. This university is affiliated with HEC and it has only one capus which is located in Islamabad. Five institutions are affiliated with this university namely Rawal institute of Health Science, Bashir institute of Health Science, Yusra Medical and Dental College, Islamabad Medical and dental College and HBS Medical and Dental College.
